When it’s not rain, it’s the heat—but either way, #TeamMLE shows up and delivers!
We kicked off summer in full force last week, with strong performances from our #MLEhunters and #MLEjumpers at the Summer Kick Off Horse Show at Swan Lake Stables. Mary Lisa Leffler of Rolling Acres Show Stables had an incredible week, winning the $225 Green Hunter Over Fences with Mila Lieberman’s Deal Me In and taking top-five in the $1,000 USHJA Hunter Incentive. She went on to earn 2nd in the same class with Annabella Wyman’s Diamants Good Friday and took the win with Danielle Vileno’s Casamigos. Mary Lisa also grabbed a blue ribbon in the 1.0m Open Jumpers with Annabella Wyman’s 501 Mischief Managed, and capped off the week with a win in the $20,000 Grand Prix 1.40m on her own Zaza Z.
Meanwhile, our #MLEeventers braved the summer temps at the Loudoun Hunt Pony Club Summer Horse Trials. Jaclyn Burke of Hablyn Hills Equestrian Center finished 4th in Open Novice with her own Adara and won the Novice Horse division with Casino Kid. Martin Douzant of The Frame Sport Horses had a big weekend, winning Open Training with Faith Genkinger’s Nuclear Code, winning Open Beginner Novice with Frame stallion Frame Nantucket S, placing 2nd in Novice Horse with sale horse First Syzygy QP, and 3rd in Beginner Novice with sale horse Fischer’s Guccio.
Brittany Hebets-Miller of Hebets Miller Eventing piloted young horse Radiant SPF, owned by the Ohana Syndicate, to a 7th place finish. And #MLEintern Megan took her own Parkside Charm around his first recognized Beginner Novice course with confidence.
