The summer heat is on, but #TeamMLE is rising to the occasion in rings and arenas across the East Coast!
Down in Berryville, VA at Hunt Club Horse Trials, our eventers brought the fire. Jaclyn Burke of Hablyn Hills Equestrian piloted Kyra Caffery’s Never Gone South to a 3rd-place finish in Open Novice and added a top-ten placing with her own Arada in Open Training. Meanwhile, Martin Douzant of The Frame Sport Horses had a busy and successful weekend—taking 2nd in Open Novice with sale horse First Syzygy QP, 3rd in Novice Horse with Frame Nantucket S, and 5th in the same division with sale horse Fisher’s Guccio.
Up north at the Valley Classic in East Dorset, VT, the Rolling Acres Show Stables crew made it look easy. Mary Lisa Leffler delivered win after win with Casamigos in the Green Hunters, Chime in the Performance Hunters, and both Gentleman Jack and Zaza Z in the 1.30m Jumpers. Ashley Worthington also showed up in a big way—earning top ribbons with Deal Me In in the $500 Green Hunter, taking 4th in the $5,000 Adequan Open Welcome with Diadora, and nearly sweeping the 3’6″ Green Hunters with Iggy Pop.
Closer to home Brett Shear-Heyman of Penny Leigh LLC was out at the Princeton Summer Classic in Princeton, NJ. Brett brought home a reserve champion with Sophie Deegan’s SF Barcaggio and a 4th in the $5,000 Welcome Stake on her own Merlino PL.
