#TeamMLE has been putting in the WORK these past few weeks!
Last weekend, our #MLEeventers showed up strong at the Old Tavern Horse Trials in The Plains, VA. Erin Murphy of Morningside Eventing had a standout weekend, racking up top finishes across the board, including a 1st place in Open Beginner Novice with Courtney Bolam’s Hemisphere, 2nd in Open Training 2 with Toni Flory’s Dominus, 3rd in Beginner Novice Horse with Leslie Faenza’s Moonlight Rendezvous, and 5th in Open Training 1 with Rae Stone’s Haslemere Jacamo. Brittany Hebets-Miller of Hebets Miller Eventing also had a fantastic ride, securing 4th in Open Beginner Novice with Katrina Geier’s A Proper Villain. Courtney Waskiewicz of Defying Gravity Eventing had a great weekend as well, earning 2nd place in Novice Horse with Lisa Smith’s Chancellor and 5th in Preliminary Rider with Elizabeth Callahan’s Hand Rail.
Meanwhile, down in Aiken, SC, at Stable View Oktoberfest, Kim Severson of Kim Severson Eventing brought her A-game, winning Open Preliminary B with Cooley Consort and placing 9th in the CCI3*-S with Cooley Corraghy Diamond.
This past weekend, our #MLEeventers continued to shine at the MDHT #3 and Area II Championships in Adamstown, MD. Martin Douzant of The Frame Sport Horses brought four horses, finishing 2nd in the Training Championships with sale horse Johnny Walker P, 2nd in Open Training with Erin Durst’s Justified, and top-ten finishes with Angela Bailey’s Okie Brown and Kerstin Crutchfield’s High Rock in Open Novice A and B. Erin Murphy of Morningside Eventing takes the title for busiest rider, competing SIX horses over three days! She placed 2nd in Open Training 2 with Tony Flory’s Dominus, 3rd in Beginner Novice Horse with Leslie Faenza’s Moonlight Rendezvous, and clinched 1st in Open Beginner Novice with Courtney Bolam’s Hemisphere. Daniel Clasing of Clasing Equestrian also delivered impressive results, taking 1st in Open Novice A with Baby Balou, 1st in Open Beginner Novice with Mr. Nibs, and 4th in Open Novice B with Glen Future, while Kaitlin Clasing secured a solid 5th in Open Novice A.
Our #MLEjumpers had a lighter weekend, but Brett Shear-Heyman of Penny Leigh LLC still made a splash at The Piedmont Jumper Classic, taking home the championship in the 1.15m Open Jumpers with Haley Carspeckan’s Get Out.
