It’s been a whirlwind at MLE lately, especially with Margaret on the hunt for those final scores for her USDF Bronze medal with her own horse Runonstilts. But we did want to take a second to recognize our #TeamMLE riders and their fantastic rides over the past couple weekends.
Our #MLEhunters kicked off the action at the Lexington Spring Premiere in Virginia. Mary Lisa Leffler of Rolling Acres Show Stables had a standout week, clinching the Championship in the 3’9″ Green Hunters and Reserve Championship in Conformation Hunters with Chime. Ashley Worthington, also from Rolling Acres, showcased her prowess with three horses, landing notable victories in the Training Jumpers. Brett Shear-Heyman of Penny Leigh LLIC snagged a blue ribbon in the 1.0m Training Jumpers on Haley Carspecken’s Get Out, and sale horse Merlino PL.
Our #MLEeventers ended April with a splash at the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S in Kentucky. Allison Springer of Allison Springer Eventing and Dani Sussman of Aspire Eventing showcased their talent with impressive rides. Meanwhile more #MLEeventers hit the ground running closer to home at the Loudoun Hunt Pony Club Spring Horse Trials in Virginia. Martin Douzant of The Frame Sport Horses competed four horses, and brought home a blue ribbon on sale horse Delta Dawn PVF in Beginner Novice Horse. Brittany Hebets-Miller of Hebets Miller Eventing also put in 4 rides over the weekend, and ended the weekend with a well earned 2nd place in Open Novice on Katie Cleveland’s Rough Heart. Christina Henriksen of Henriksen Eventing rode to a fabulous 4th in Open Intermediate with JTH Zest. Megan Hopkins, our newest MLE intern had both of her horses out, and put in some wonderfully strong rides.
May kicked off with a bang as our #MLEhunters returned to the ring at the Lexington Spring Encore. Joe DeSantis of The Frame Sport Horses secured a 1st place in the 0.85m Training Jumpers, while Mary Lisa Leffler continued her winning streak with multiple victories and championships across various disciplines Ashley Worthington also had a stellar showing, earning top spots in both the hunter and jumper rings.
And let’s not forget our #MLEeventers, who braved the rainy and windy conditions at the Waredaca Spring Horse Trials in Maryland. Stephen Bradley of Stephen Bradley Eventing, Daniel and Kaitlin Clasing of Clasing Equestrian, and Courtney Waskiewicz of Defying Gravity Eventing showcased their skills with commendable performances, bringing home several top finishes. Notably Kaitlin brought home two blue ribbons on both of her mounts, Denis Glaccum’s Butts Arthur, and Ann O’Donnell’s TGS Lion’s Sunshine in Open Preliminary, and Open Novice-A respectively.
